From Hurricane Katrina to Nonprofit Leadership
Q: Can you tell us a bit about your background and what first sparked your interest in the nonprofit world?
Celeste Sneeze: My path was reshaped by resilience. While preparing for a medical career in college, I survived Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and relocated to my hometown of Portland, Oregon. Since my new university didn’t offer pre-med, I shifted toward social sciences—a move that ultimately defined my career.
I began working at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland, where I discovered a deep-seated passion for nonprofit service. After gaining experience with Northwest Family Services and Child Protective Services (CPS) across Louisiana, Oregon, and Texas, I am honored to continue this mission in my current role at Network.

Q: What was it about the Network that made you want to accept the role of President and CEO? What excites you the most?
Celeste Sneeze: I originally joined Network as the Chief Program Officer because it brought me back to the foundation of my work: directly helping people and communities. Having worked with specialized populations—including survivors of domestic violence—joining Network offered a chance to make a broader impact.
Serving families across diverse life circumstances allows us to address immediate crises while supporting long-term stability. As CEO, I’m excited to champion new initiatives and witness the success stories firsthand. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the tangible, positive impact we have on the lives of our neighbors.
Expanding Food Access in Richardson: 2026 Initiatives
Q: We understand that Network is ushering in some exciting changes in 2026. What can the community expect?
Celeste Sneeze: We are! Our primary focus for 2026 is expanding reach. We are launching a satellite food pantry location to assist families who face transportation barriers. By bringing services closer to where people live, we reduce the strain on limited resources and ensure access to essential needs.

Life Outside the Network: Family, Faith, and Violin
Q: When you’re not working, what do you enjoy doing to unwind?
Celeste Sneeze: I cherish time with my family. We are quite competitive, so game nights are a staple in our house! My husband and I also love supporting our daughter’s sporting events. Personally, I recharge by hitting the gym, traveling, or getting my nails done.
Q: What’s a fun fact or quirky habit most people don’t know about you?
Celeste Sneeze: Fun fact: I play the violin! It’s like riding a bike; even if I haven’t played in a while, the skill stays with you.
Q: What are you most passionate about outside of the nonprofit world?
Celeste Sneeze: My family and my faith. I am a licensed minister and have directed choirs and praise dance teams across the country. We are a very musical family, and I find great joy in worship services and singing together.
